Hotels have security, how safe is your apartment?

Our apartment is located directly on Avenida Atlantica next to many of the large hotels such as the Othon Palace. This is the safest street to stay on as it is well lit at night and highly populated with tourists and municipal police. The street scene can change dramatically just one or two blocks in from Avenida Atlantica. Also, our apartment has 24 hour doorman service, just like the hotels.
